How Safe Families Works
Get Involved
Safe Families equips local volunteers to provide informal, family-like support to families experiencing a crisis. Our goal is to see families strengthened and supported by their community. With a community of support, we believe children can be safe and families remain intact.

Volunteer Opportunities
Family Coaches
Family Coaches help identify, set, and achieve the goals parents have for themselves and their family during and after a crisis.
Family Friends
Family Friends encourage and support parents in crisis through friendship, hot meals, babysitting, transportation, etc.
Host Families
Host Families are screened and approved by SFFC to host children in their homes for short periods of time.
Resource Friends
Resource Friends provide goods and services to meet immediate needs.

Meet with one of our staff members for an in-person interview.
Home Visit
If you wish to be a host family, you’ll need a home safety check.
