Closing a Circle of Support can bring about any number of different emotions. Today, those emotions are joy and gratitude!
Joy with a mom who has graduated from Southlight Healthcare’s residential substance abuse program and has been accepted into another support program (UNC Horizons), which will pay for her housing for one year! She has a job she likes and a daycare close by for her baby.
Gratitude for our Circle of Support volunteers who walked with her for almost 6 months (173 days of support, including 10 days of hosting)! Her Coach, her Family Friend, and the Host Families who supported her gave her time to work extra shifts to save money, to rest periodically, and became an ongoing support system for her.
While the Circle is officially closed, the social support network that has been created is strong and will continue.
